Nov 27th: Sam's Basketball Shots

The other day I posted my shots from the CSU Women's Basketball game; here are some of the shots Sam got.

Hopefully, we will be headed downtown this week to see the Lady Bucs take on the College of Charleston and then have more photos to share, so stayed tuned!!

Nov 25th: The Holiday Season Begins!!

In light of Black Friday, I hope that everyone takes some time to think about what the Holidays are all about. I'm not just talking about the religious aspect of Christmas, although it's not to be overlooked, I'm talking about spending time with families, extending a helping hand to people in need instead of trampling the person in front of you in line so that you can get the awesome deal on a new television.

Any ways...

Sam and I went to our first CSU Women's Basketball game of the season on Tuesday, so I thought I'd share some of the shots I got.

I got my first real photo credit from this game as well. It's not Sports Illustrated, but it's on the school's website and I've got to start somewhere!! It was a crop from the next picture:

Nov 13th: WEDDING!!!!

I got the oppurtunity to shoot a simple wedding ceremony this weekend; ok, it was my Dad... but it was still fun!!!

I'll get around to posting some more of the soccer pictures soon, hopefully, and there's a lot of other stuff going on now. Basketball season started, so I hope to get in on that action soon too!!

Until all of that, enjoy a couple of photos from Lynn and Patty's wedding.

Nov 7th: Big South Conference Women's Soccer

We were on the sidelines for the quarter and semi final games of the Big South Conference Women's Soccer Championships. It has become very clear to me that a new computer is in our future. I love my '07 MacBook Pro, but processing nearly 8,500 pictures is a task that it's not quite up to in any kind of speedy fashion. With that said, I'll share some of my favorite from the CSU game on Thursday evening (the MBP is working hard to upload the last 3 games).

The girls looked to be in good spirits, despite having to start the tournament against Winthrop, who beat them last Saturday, 3-0. It was pretty awesome to have the game at night, under the lights of Blackbaud Stadium. I don't know about the rest of the schools in the Big South Conference, but CSU's soccer field has no lights.

Apparently there was a big concert at Blackbaud Stadium and it did quite a number of the field. The grass was in pretty terrible condition. The silver lining, though, is that because the turf was so bad, the player's cleats picked up sand with nearly every step, which made for some pretty cool photos, especially under the lights.

I'm not 100% sure it's not just the angle here, but it definitely looks to me like #9 (Aislinn McIlvenny) is steering that other girl around... by the face, which, in a word, is AWESOME.

The girls played, what I thought, was a great game. They had plenty of chances that they just couldn't quite finish and regulation ended in a 0-0 tie... as did the first OT... and the second OT, only to lose in (the worst way in all of sports, in my opinion) penalty kicks.

There's definitely more of this to come over the next few days, but for now, I'll leave you with one of my favorite shots of the weekend:

Nov 2nd: dot com... WHAT?!?!?

When Sam and I decided to pursue photography seriously, the LAST thing I thought I'd be doing was learning about CNAME's, DNS management, domain masking, CSS, html, and a lot of other things that, until recently, I didn't really know or care about. And then....

At any rate, while I was researching some of the aforementioned last night, Sam was out taking some pictures of a friend's kid at his horse riding lessons. I thought I'd share some of them here (and secretly I know she likes getting the attention here on the blog):
