400mm's and the Referee/Umpire conspiracy

Yesterday and today I shot some CSU baseball using Canon's 400mm f/2.8L IS lens... that thing is a BEAST! There's certainly a steep learning curve when stepping up to that monster (it weighs 11.8 lbs).

Before I post more game photos, I wanted to share something... Scott Kelby mentioned this in his blog a while ago (Scott Kelby's blog), but here is more evidence of the Referee/Umpire Conspiracy Against Photographers (which I hereby call RUCAP).

On to the good stuff...

March 7th: Catching Up!!

There's been a lot going on lately, so here are some of my favorite shots from the last couple of weeks:

CSU's WBB team had their final home game on 2/20, and Football's Coach Kelly was the honorary coach... the teams Athletic Trainers had to show him where to sit.

Lakeitha Alston showed her usual drive and determination, unfortunately it just wasn't enough to lead the Lady Bucs to the win.

Megan Lombard makes the tag at second base during a game versus Wright State on Feb 24th.

Here, Alex Tomasovich makes the play at second in the first of four games the CSU baseball team played against the Thundering Herd of Marshall.

When CSU hosted Wisconsin as part of a softball tournament, I saw one of the weirdest plays I've ever witnessed:

Nothing like a homerun to put a smile on your face!
